UN Demands Immediate Removal of Suspected and Known Child Abusers in Clergy
The UN has demanded that the Vatican "immediately remove" all clergy who are known or suspected child abusers.

The UN watchdog for children's rights denounced the Holy See for adopting policies that it says, allow priests to sexually abuse thousands of children.

Government Completes 1st Draft of National Health Sector Policy
The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Human Services and Gender Relation has completed the first draft of a National Health Sector Policy, which forms part of the health sector reform process.

The National Health Policy will govern the functioning of the Health Sector and provide a framework for planning and decision making in health for all actors in the health system.

SEDU to host Community Outreach Programme Next Week
The Small Enterprise Development Unit (SEDU) of the Ministry of Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs in collaboration with BELfund Saint Lucia will be hosting a Community Outreach Programme in the town of Soufriere next week.

The event forms part of SEDU’s Entrepreneurial Development Programme, the key objective of which is the promotion of an entrepreneurial culture and the development of best practices amongst potential and existing micro and small business owners.

The Government of St. Lucia has thrown its support behind Nina Compton as anticipation grows among members of the public ahead of the finals of the International culinary TV show Top Chef

In a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office issued earlier today Dr Kenny Anthony says Nina Compton has made Saint Lucia proud.  She has taken the United States of America and the rest of the television world by storm in her quest to become America’s Top TV Chef.

Police Investigate Homicide in Bois D'Orange
Officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 37 year old Malcolm Hippolyte of Bois D’ Orange, Gros Islet.

A communiqué from the Press Relations Department of the Royal St Lucia Police Force notes that about 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014, officers were summoned to Hippolyte’s residence, where they found suspended from a ceiling by a sheet. He was pronounced dead on the scene by a medical practitioner.

Reggae Artists Mourn Passing of William ‘Bunny Rugs’ Clarke
A St. Lucian Reggae enthusiast has reacted to the death of a legendary artist whose passing has taken some by surprise.

Tributes to the late William ‘Bunny Rugs’ Clarke former lead singer of the popular band Third World continue to pour in since news of his death at a Miami hospital. Clarke who would have turned 66 on Thursday, February 6, had been in intensive care for some time.
