The kid gloves are off, as a top official in the Ministry of Creative Industries fights what he says is a clear conflict of interest that is costing one group of people in the local music industry.

Consultant in the Ministry of Creative Industries Christopher Hunte says while debate on the amount of airplay for local music has fizzled out, he points to a new culture which he says is placing some artistes at a major disadvantage.

Government of Saint Lucia Discusses Cruise Ship Employment Programme
The Government of Saint Lucia has provided more details on the Cruise Ship Employment Programme.  Since the announcement of this programme in the 2014/2015 Budget Statement, many unemployed youth from across the island have expressed a desire to take advantage of this opportunity.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2014, officials from the Office of the Prime Minister and the Saint Lucia Development Bank disclosed the details of this new initiative. Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, Dr. Alison Plummer, says the success of the pilot phase was the driving force behind the expansion of this programme.

Resident at Cornerstone Humanitarian Society Alleges Abusive Behaviour by Staffers
Accusations have been leveled at one staffer at the Cornerstone Humanitarian Society suggesting a growing trend of physical abuse particularly against the elderly residents there.

The complaint is being raised by one ward, who bore marks of violence on his person. He claimed that he had suffered at the hands of the male staff, and that he is not the only one.
