Minister of Tourism Lorne Theophilus says the treat of the Zika virus has been blown out of proportion.

Mr Theophillus’ response comes as CNN and other international media outlets report that the Zika virus is spreading explosively throughout the Americas.

Residents of Micoud North to Receive Update on Chakadan Daniel Case this Weekend
Residents of Micoud North are expecting to get more clarity on the death of Chakadan Daniel from law enforcement officials who are scheduled to hold a public meeting there on Saturday.

That's according to one resident and former Press Secretary Darnley Le Bourne who stressed that the subject is among the main issues that continue to be of concern, particularly as the inquest into Daniel’s death concluded that it was an unlawful killing.

Marc Anthony to Headline the St. Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival
Organizers of the annual Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival have confirmed that Marc Anthony, the top-selling tropical salsa recording artist of all time will headline the event this year.

The Grammy award winning Latin singer, with 25 Billboard chart hits, was inaugurated into the Billboard Hall of Fame in 2012. He is scheduled to perform on Sunday, May 8th as part of the festival’s main stage performances.

The addition of Marc Anthony to the lineup will be a collective celebration on Friday, January 29th, 2016 when highly popular Salsa Saint Lucia kicks off a series of specially themed Salsa Parties at Blu Hotel in Rodney Bay, commemorating the music of the Grammy award winning Latin sensation.

The founder of the Caribbean Centre for Family and Human Rights Sarah Flood Beaubrun has bemoaned the circulation of the latest viral video that features the vicious beating of a Soufriere teenager.

The video shows a girl who is reportedly fifteen years old being savagely beaten by a group of women. The attack is also being encouraged by onlookers who do nothing to assist or stop the assault.

Major Fire Guts Buildings in Rodney Bay
Several business owners in the commercial zone of the Rodney Bay area are today counting losses after a major fire gutted through two buildings in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

It is the first phase of a project being coordinated by the St Lucia National trust, as part of a historical complex in the Grass Street area.

St. Lucia Government Offers Condolences to the Family of the late Brian McDonald
As members of the media and sporting fraternity continue to mourn the sudden loss of one of their own, a statement of condolence has been issued by the Office of the Prime Minister.

Veteran broadcaster, Brian died after suffering a heart attack in Soufriere, where he was part of the management team for the Veterans Football Tournament.
