Five individuals sustained serious injuries after the pick up truck which they were travelling aboard flipped over on the Rock Hall road.

According to Assistant Divisional Officer at the St Lucia Fire Service Vastus Serieux a call was placed to the department shortly after 8pm.

Testing on Zika Virus Continues
As testing for the ZIKA virus continues here, medical officials have denied reports that the number of confirmed cases is on the rise.

In an interview with RCI news today Dr Michelle Francois noted that Ministry of health officials continue to test for the virus in people who present undifferentiated fever—a main symptom of the virus.

Government of Saint Lucia to Sign the Paris Agreement on Climate Change at UN Headquarters
The Government of Saint Lucia will sign and ratify the Paris Agreement on Climate Change when the Agreement is opened for signature on Friday 22nd April, 2016 during a High Level Ceremony to be hosted by Secretary General Ban Ki Moon at UN Headquarters.

Saint Lucia played a leading role during the negotiations that led to the adoption of the historic climate change agreement in Paris in December 2016. The country’s minister for Public Service, Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology, Dr James Fletcher led a strong CARICOM negotiating team that fought for and was successful in getting many critical issues reflected in the Paris Agreement.

Another neurological disorder is currently affecting Zika patients in Martinque.

In addition to microcephaly the World Health Organization has confirmed that the Zika virus can cause Guillain-Barré syndrome. This is a disorder in which the body's immune system attacks part of the nervous system. In severe cases the disorder can cause patients to become paralyzed.

28 Yr Old Woman Diagnosed with Zika Confirmed Pregnant
The 28 year old woman who has been diagnosed with Zika is pregnant.

The confirmation during Thursday  RCI’s News Spin program. Medical officials have been seeking to confirm the connection between the Zika virus and microcephaly, a birth defect where a baby's head is smaller than expected when compared to babies of the same sex and age.

MASL President Reacts to Letter Served by Attorneys
Absurd and ridiculous are some of the words used to describe a letter served on MASL President and MBC Television news anchor Clinton Reynolds, by attorneys representing the President of the Senate and Chairman of the St Lucia Labour Party Claudius Francis.

The letter was demanding an apology from Francis as well as damages over a report which the lawyers claim has subjected their client to ridicule. But in dramatic fashion, Reynolds tore the document after reading it on Tuesday night during his talk show Current Affairs, and announced that he would see Francis in Court.

On Tuesday, April 5, 2016 a post mortem was conducted on the body of 20 year old, Jennifer Edwin of Dugard, Micoud.

The examination revealed that she died as a result of sudden cardiac death (unexpected death caused by loss of heart function).

Stray dogs and cats can be seen on St. Lucian streets almost as often as people. Roots Reggae artiste Taj Weekes founded the TOCO organization (They often cry outreach).

Lineup Announced for Official Opening of Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival
The 2016 Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival is set to officially open at the Mindoo Philip Park on April 29th with a high energy party experience consistent with what has become known as the “Best Party in the Caribbean”.

Twelve artistes from Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago and Saint Lucia will perform in a show designed to bring the most prolific Soca hits over the last two years, old school reggae and dancehall to the Opening Show. They comprise Saint Lucians Nerdy, Sirlancealot, Michael Robinson, Sedale & Wildfire, Mysterio, Arthur Allain, Ezra ‘The Fun Machine’, Tropixx Band, and The Derek Yarde Project (DYP) in an old school reggae tribute with Lovindeer, plus Lyrical and Mavado.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Jonathan Keenan Felix also known as “Jaws” of San Souci, Castries.

According to reports, Felix was escorted to the Victoria Hospital after he was allegedly stabbed in the chest by a known assailant on Sunday, March 3, 2016 about 12:50 p.m. between Darling Road and Jn. Baptiste Street, Castries.
