Corinth Resident Clears the Air Amid Reports of ISIS Ties

A Corinth resident is seeking to repair his reputation amid what he says are attempts to associate him with ISIS.

Kenneth Bernard says he was surprised to learn that a warning was being circulated on social media cautioning people not to accept the number 715-5110 as a contact because it is that of a hacker from ISIS. The message strongly advises people to circulate the warning to all their contacts.

Preparations for the hosting of Mercury Beach in St Lucia are well advanced, according to the organizers of the event that brings thousands of French visitors to St Lucia.

Thousands of party goers from Martinique and around the region are expected to converge on St Lucia for the event which takes place annually at Pigeon Island.

A body that was found early Sunday morning on Vigie beach has been identified as that of Jn Baptiste Flemius aka Junior of Morne du Don.

The discovery of the body of the sixteen year old was made by the Marine Police.

Raise Your Voice St Lucia Continues to Maintain that Plans were Afoot to Discontinue the Special Needs Pediatric Program

Despite claims to the contrary from the government, the Secretary of Raise Your Voice St Lucia continues to maintain that plans were afoot to discontinue the special needs pediatric program coordinated by the Ministry of Health.

In a spirited interview on Thursday’s newsspin program, Catherine Sealys insists that her call on the government for answers came following her own investigations into claims by a parent with a special needs child, the program had been discontinued.

Sandals Staff Escapes Severe Injury Following Vehicular Collision

Sandals team members who were involved in a vehicular collision on the Castries to Gros Islet Highway have escaped severe injury.

Reports are that a staff bus with 15 team members was headed to the Sandals Grande Resort on Tuesday when, on approaching the Morgan Bay resort in Choc Bay, a car headed in the opposite direction appeared to lose control and hit the bus. The staff vehicle veered off course but quick action by the driver averted a collision with a truck. However the bus ran in to a wall.

Parents and guardians of students, who wrote the 2017 Common Entrance Examinations and will be proceeding to a secondary school, are informed that bursaries cheques under the Education Access Fund are now available for collection from 10am to 2pm on the following dates and locations.

Officers attached to the Micoud Police Station received a report of a stabbing, at the Micoud Playing Field, about 10:00p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2017.
