Four St Lucia Zouks stars thrilled local school children when they visited two schools on the island on Tuesday.
St. Lucian Keddy Lesporis, and Barbadian Kyle Mayers, visited the Dernier Riviere Primary School, while Vincentian, Delorn Johnson, and Dominican, Shane Shillingford, a veteran of 16 test matches for the West Indies, visited the Grand Riviere Primary School.
With just five days until the Zouks’ first match at Beausejour Stadium, against the Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel, the schools came alive as pupils sang and acted for the players, who in turn spoke about the importance of local support in the Zouks’ four home matches.
Swarms of students embraced the players with questions on the life of a cricketer, and the players were only too happy to answer questions, before joining in a game of cricket, showing the talented youngsters the secrets to hitting fours and sixes!
The St. Lucia Zouks play four matches at the Beausehour Stadium, on June 21st, 24th, 26th and 28th. Fans are being urged to buy their tickets early, either at Courts, Delerius or at the Stadium Box Office.
