The Acting Police Commissioner, has reacted to public concern about the ruling by the Magistrates Court on Friday, July 24, 2015, which concluded that Chakadan Daniel’s death was as a result of “unlawful killing”.
Mr Errol Alexander spoke to members of the media regarding concerns about the next step to be taken in the matter. Alexander stated that the responsibility rests with the Director of Public Prosecutions. He adds that the presumption of innocence should be maintained and that officers are to remain strong and render support to their colleagues.
The Acting commissioner also reacted to suggestions that morale within the RSLPF is low. He stressed that police officers are still into law enforcement, and continue to record successes in curbing crimes despite all the issues presently surrounding the force
Mr Alexander also assured the public that the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force will continue to pursue its mission of providing a professional policing service in partnership with all communities, to create a safer environment for all Saint Lucians.
