Several passengers aboard a Minibus plying the Vieux Fort route sustained non-life threatening injuries after the vehicle ran off the road and crashed into a utility pole.

The disclosure was made by Divisional Officer at the Southern Division Joseph Joseph. He informed that the incident occurred on Wednesday around 5:11 pm.

Ms Joseph explained that while many of the passengers who were transported to the St Jude Hospital have been treated and discharged for minor injuries, two passengers sustained broken legs.

This comes as the nation continues to express growing concern about road safety and the number of accidents that have been occurring here in recent times.
