All is set for the staging of a silent protest in Castries on Wednesday that is expected to raise awareness to the high rate of violence against Women and children.
It is being led by the advocacy group, Raise Your Voice whose members have been lobbying for public support for the elimination of Violence against women.
According to Ms Catherine Sealys the call comes on the international observance that draws attention to the issue.
She has however shot down suggestions that such a public outcry is a knee jerk reaction in light of several reports of rapes and other forms of violence against women and children here.
She adds that Wednesday’s event will allow the members to present a declaration that will apply pressure to local policy makers
The march will start from Serenity Park and end with a vigil on the Derek Walcott Square
November 25 is observed as International Day to end Violence against Women
