The National Emergency Management organization is urging for caution despite the traditional end of the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season.

The warning comes from the NEMO director Velda Joseph who points to the Christmas eve trough as an example of an adverse weather event occurring outside of the June to November hurricane season.

She stressed that the effects of climate change are evident, leaving no clear separation between the hurricane season and other periods of the year.

The Nemo Director has also urged the public to remain on guard for other eventualities that have no set season.

She says the message is particularly important as people engage in the festive Christmas season.

The Hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th
