The glowing accolades for the West Indies Under 19 team continue to flow in as the President of the St Lucia Cricket Association and director on the West Indies Cricket Board gives his commendation on the youngsters’ historic feat.

But according to Mr Julian Charles there is much work to be done by the struggling senior team in order to achieve such recognition.

The West Indies won the Under-19 World Cup for the first time in their history after beating India by five wickets – with only three balls to spare on Sunday.

Charles says while the West Indies was not a favourite to win, those who placed confidence in the players knew they stood a good chance once they developed a chemistry on the field.

Charles also noted that apart from the level of support among the players, they were master minds with the tactical aspects of the game.
