The United Workers Party Government is boasting a fifty percent reduction in the increases in vehicle license fees effective September 1st.
Transport Minister Guy Joseph says the reduction highlights the fulfillment of one of the promises made in the UWP’s five to stay alive election campaign, that will bring relief to motorist.
Joseph adds that the UWP paid close attention to the increases in taxes posed on St. Lucians particularly in vehicle licence fees, by the previous administration. He notes that the jump in some cases to as much as 750 dollars, which he says had a significant impact on the trucking sector.
The Transport Minister remarked that the success of the United Workers Party can easily be measured based on its performance and delivery of its election campaign promises. He stressed that it is for the benefit of all St Lucians despite the political allegiance.
