St Lucians are being placed on high alert for flood conditions due to a trough system currently affecting the island.
According to Met Officials the trough is producing moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Lesser Antilles.
The advisory cautions that due to the recent rains over the weekend, the soil moisture in some parts of the island is relatively high and as a result the possibility of flash flooding is heightened.
Residents in areas prone to flooding and landslides are asked to be vigilant. Motorists are also being advised to be cautious.
The Saint Lucia Meteorological Service will closely monitor this feature and will issue additional statements if necessary.
