Plans for the construction of a four lane highway in the north of the island are currently on hold.
That's according to St Lucia’s Minister for Infrastructure Stephenson King who informed that an assessment of the plans for the project is currently underway to determine the need for such a massive infrastructural undertaking.
King observes that alternatives are being explored, among them is a decision on whether it would be more sensible to rehabilitate the secondary roads instead.
The project was conceptualized by the former St Lucia Labour Party administration.
