Plans are in motion to amend existing traffic legislation ahead of the implementation of parking meters in the City.
The move is being spearheaded by the Castries Constituencies Council and the Attorney General’s Chambers, in an effort to relieve traffic congestion in Castries.
Speaking on the initiative CCC Chairman Peterson Francis informed that the move will address concerns about indiscriminate parking from the business community.
Francis is confident that the CCC has the capacity to properly maintain and police the new devices when they are installed here in the coming months.
Amendments will be made to the traffic act to include regulations for use of the parking meters.
