Plans for the pending installation of parking meters that will alleviate parking issues in Castries have been applauded by a local motorist.
The announcement was recently made by the Chairman on the Castries Constituencies council Peterson Francis, who explained that the device will assist with congestion and other traffic problems in the city.
The move has been applauded by Aaron Alexander who believes that in addition to generating additional revenue for the Council, the mayor should also explore the relocation of a number of bus stops around the city.
Alexander has recommended that the space at the George the fifth park can be used for the establishment of a central bus terminal.
He has also called on local authorities to close off the William Peter Boulevard to vehicular traffic.
Alexander believes that the restrictions will help to further ease traffic flow in Castries.
