As the frequency of bomb threats continue here, questions persist about the possibility of call tracing in order to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice.
A total of for such threatening calls have been lodged here this week, with three registered at locations in close proximity in the Capital.
Police Press Relations Officer Gregory Alexander informed on Monday that the force has the capacity to investigate such threats however, a senior official at a telecommunications operator here says tracking such calls can be a complicated process.
The official stressed that in order to match an individual to such a call, a request must be made by police. The source further explained that while telecoms providers are obligated to collect personal information for customer protection purposes from SIM card holders, it can easily be disposed of or passed on to other users, making the tracking process difficult.
