A post mortem conducted on the body of one of the twins who succumbed to injuries sustained in a fire at La Croix Maingot, has been released.
The autopsy conducted on the body by Dr. Wayne Felicien revealed that Kerri Louis died as a result of hypovolemic shock, (severe blood or fluid loss) secondary to extensive burns to the body.
The incident occurred on Thursday April 27th when officers attached to the Marigot Police Station received a report of a house fire at Fond Claub, La Croix Maingot.
Upon arrival the officers observed a completely burnt wooden structure, measuring about ten (10) feet by twenty (20) feet.
The residence was occupied by a family of five (5) individuals. The ten month old twin infants were in the structure at the time when the fire allegedly commenced and sustained severe injuries. A man identified as their father, also sustained burn injuries, during an attempt to rescue the twins.
They were conveyed to the Victoria Hospital via private means. Kerri Louis, one of the twins, succumbed as a result of the injuries he sustained during the fire, about 2:00 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017.
