A month of activities has been carded to mark the observance of Vaccination Week here as the Americas celebrates its 15- year milestone.
The observance takes place under the theme “Get Vaccinated to celebrate a healthy tomorrow”. The aim is to raise awareness about the significance of vaccination as an integral part of healthy living; reduced morbidity and mortality; and disease prevention.
Medical Officer of Health, Dr Sharon Belmar-George spoke of the impacts of vaccination.
Meanwhile, Immunization manager, Julietta Cassius encourages the public to participate in two (2) major activities which will commence this week.
In addition, the Immunization Manager also noted that free vaccination is available throughout the wellness centres across the island, and has urged individuals to take advantage of such opportunities.
