A communiqué issued by the Roman Catholic Church stating its position among dissenters on the DSH development earmarked for Vieux Fort has been drawing reaction from members of the public.

Among them is Newspaper publisher and talk show host Rick Wayne who has expressed amazement at what he says is the political undertones of the church’s statement.

In its statement of concern, Arch bishop Robert Revas noted on behalf of the church that the religious organization had joined the opposition chorus on plans for the DSH project, the dolphinarium.

Wayne believes that the slant taken by the church can be perceived as partisan and divisive, and may not be a true representation of the masses.

RCI news has learnt that representatives of the Roman Catholic Church have met with government officials to discuss their concerns, however there has been no word on the outcome of that meeting.
