The CEO at the CIP Unit has been sent on administrative leave.
Reliable sources had informed on Wednesday that Mrs Cindy McLean had been fired from the position. She was ordered on leave yesterday afternoon, however the duration of the administrative leave has not been disclosed.
Minister for finance in the Office of the Prime Minister Dr Ubaldus Raymond has reacted to the move noting that it is not a new or strange practice. As for recent amendments to the program Raymond insists that the security aspect of the initiative will not be affected
Speculation is rife about the reason for the sanction. But Dr Raymond says the government is best placed to disclose the grounds for the administrative leave.
An official statement is yet to be released.
