Disciplinary action has been taken against the Chairman of the Fire Service Welfare Association over what authorities reportedly see as insubordination.

Informed sources indicate that Shane Felix has been suspended for 2 months without pay, after he allegedly raised opposition to taking on an assignment for which he is not qualified.

While Felix has declined to comment on the issue, sources disclose that the matter was brought before the Public Service Commission and that Felix had an opportunity to appeal the decision. But he declined.
