Calls for reparation for slavery have taken a new direction, as a member of the Rastafarian community continues to press the issue.
The matter which was recently discussed at the Caricom level has been ongoing for some time now.
President of the Imperial Ethiopian World Federation Incorporated, Peter Ras Ipa Isaac notes that before any decision can be taken on a regional or international level, certain considerations must be made on the home front.
He notes that the descendants of slave owners here who continue to benefit from the sweat and tears of African slaves must be among the first to make restitution.
He notes that the move will be a first step to addressing the disparity in land distribution and home ownership as well as educational opportunities.
