Officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 37 year old Malcolm Hippolyte of Bois D’ Orange, Gros Islet.

A communiqué from the Press Relations Department of the Royal St Lucia Police Force notes that about 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014, officers were summoned to Hippolyte’s residence, where they found suspended from a ceiling by a sheet. He was pronounced dead on the scene by a medical practitioner.

Hippolyte was last seen alive on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 about 11 p.m.

In more news, four men are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations in connection with an attack on a 42 year old man of Vieux Fort.

The incident occurred at Industrial Estate, Vieux Fort between 12:30 and 12:48 a.m. on Saturday

According to police, it is alleged that the victim was at a “Cockfight” when an altercation ensued between him and some men. As a result, Borie sustained blows to the head and was transported to St. Jude Hospital where he was treated before being transferred to Tapion Hospital.

As a result of injuries sustained during the altercation, Borie is said to be in critical condition.
