Ten Secondary Schools have been invited to participate in the competition. Two students have been selected from each school to create an authentic flavorsome dish from a mystery basket. The competition will comprise of two rounds to select the deserving junior chefs. The participating schools, were all part of a culinary programme conceptualized by the SLHTA launched in October 2012 called “Chef’s in Schools”.
Ms Haynes says advancements in the culinary arts sector has always been at the top of the SLHTA’s agenda—and accomplishments such as Nina Compton’s on Top Chef serves as inspiration.
