The Ministry of Health Wellness, Human Services and Gender Relations in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization will be hosting two day workshops on Improving the Quality of Care for People with Diabetes in St Lucia.

This workshop is serves as a follow up to give feedback on the use of the Chronic Care Passport which was piloted in St Lucia between 2009 and 2012 and to also introduce a new version of the document.

St Lucia was one among other Caribbean countries who participated in the study that sought to improve the quality of care of people with diabetes and by extension those with chronic diseases.

The Chronic care Passport was developed by the countries and implemented in all thirty three Wellness Centers as a monitoring and empowering tool for diabetics and health care providers.

The study was completed in 2012.
