A fatal motorcycle crash occurring here over the weekend has highlighted the need for a reminder on the importance of wearing the proper gear.

A 27 year old man is registered as the 17th Road Fatality after the motorcycle he was riding ran off the Caye Mange road on Sunday.

The incident has caught the attention of the former president of the St Lucia Motor X Club Terrol Compton who highlighted the need for riders to suit up whenever they are on the road.

Mr Compton has stressed the need for police to crack down on riders who fail to adhere to the safety standards.

He says most importantly riders must wear standard helmets which are critical in helping to save lives
