The Management of the Voice Publishing Company Ltd and Representatives of the National Workers Union have satisfactorily completed negotiations.
The Company and the NWU agreed to temporarily shelve a Reclassification, Slotting and Adjustments exercise for a period of one year. The media plant employees will now enjoy a nine percent (9%) general wage increase with 3% paid each year over three (3) years. Transportation, Meal and Medical concessions will be upgraded in keeping with the competition.
The new industrial agreement will be signed shortly.
Meanwhile the NWU is making every effort to complete negotiations with HTS.In more news the National Workers Union (NWU) is set to begin industrial negotiations with the Management of St. Lucia Electricity Services Ltd. (LUCELEC).One year ago, the NWU was granted official trade union recognition by the Ministry of Labour. That decision was as a result of a secret ballot poll among the company’s employees which the NWU won. The Recognition Certificate covered Supervisors, Section heads and Grades 4-9 Staff.The NWU has since sent its Memorandum of Proposals to the company and expects the company to come up with an agreeable date for the commencement of negotiations.
