The results of a post mortem examination which was conducted on the body of Chereece Benoit have been released. The autopsy took place on Saturday, September 14, 2013 on the body of the 19 year teenager of La Feuille, Monchy.
The results indicate Asphyxia secondary to Ligature Strangulation. Benoit’s body was discovered at her residence on Thursday September 12, 2013 about 8:45 p.m.
Police are actively pursuing investigations into her homicide. A special appeal has been made to anyone who has information which can assist in solving the homicide of Chereece Benoit to contact the Gros Islet Police Station at 456 4061/62 or the Major Crimes Unit at 456 3754.
Meanwhile, another post mortem examination has been conducted, this time on the body of 27 year old Cuthbert Joseph also known as Golda of Aux Leon, Dennery. The autopsy which took place on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 indicates he died from Hemorrhagic Shock secondary to a gunshot wound.
The incident occurred on Saturday, September 8, 2013 at Aux Leon Dennery. Police reports indicate that the deceased and his companion, 62 year old Phillip Hippolyte, also known as Ras Mazumba of La Pearle, Dennery were accosted by five armed men. As a result, Joseph sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Officials say their investigation into this incident has led to eradication exercised in over a dozen marijuana plantations. Reports say they have uprooted in excess of 50,000 Marijuana plants on over 17 plantations in several communities in Dennery.
