Three Kings Emerge Victorious in the Calypso, Groovy and Power Soca Competitions

The cultural spectacle of Carnival 2018 marked a colourful conclusion following the two day national parade on July 16 and 17th.

After an intense bout of competition, three kings emerged victorious in the Calypso, Groovy and Power Soca Competitions leading up to the event.

 

Arthur Allain, has for the 5th year secured the Groovy title with the song ‘Mama’ , with a score of 415 points. Coming in a close second with 398 points was Sedale Semai who performed ‘Stick on You’.

 

Ezra d’ fun Machine came in third with 372 points, performing his song ‘Money Dance’ and in 4th the artist Kisha with 362 points  singing her song Vaval.

Power soca King Ricky T scored 402 points to win with his song ‘Sha Leh Sho’, in 2nd ‘Wine on Another Man’ with Ezra D’Fun Machine (402 points), Soca Psycho captured the 3rd place with 379 points for the song  ‘Pitch Fork’, and Matius coming in 4th with 366 points for the song  ‘Get Wild’.
