SLNCA Female T20 Tournament Scores ( Northern Zone Scores)

The St Lucia National Cricket Association Alicia John Women's T 20 Cricket Tournament continued on Sunday at the Beauchamp Playing Field with the Northern Zone ladies and The SLNCA Development team playing to an exciting tie.

The Development made up of under 19 players batting first were dismissed for 110 in 16.3 overs with the main scorers being Paulina Francis and Alya Alfred with 14 each. For the Northern Zone the wicket takers were, Yasmaine St Ange with 2 for 17 in 3 overs, Merlika Edward and Roseline Preville with 2 for 18 in 3 overs each, Swayline Williams with 2 for 20 in 3 overs and 1 wicket to Gemma Bridgette.

Table Tennis National League
Team Eagles defeats Team Jaguars 4 games to 1. Experienced Teddy Matthews from Jaguars outplayed Clement Charles of Eagles 3 sets to 1 in the opening match. Chris Wells of Eagles quickly equalized the series when he defeated Tristan Matthews in straight sets. The doubles event saw Wells and Charles winning in straight sets against Teddy and Tristan. Chris Wells then won a tightly contested match against Teddy Matthews 3 games to 1. Clement Charles of Eagles then put the icing on the cake when he defeated Tristan in straight sets to give Eagles a 4 games  to 1 victory.

Central Castries beats Gros-Islet by Seven Wickets
Central Castries beat Gros-Islet by seven wickets as the National Cricket Association's Division one cricket competition continued at the weekend.

Playing at home Gros-islet won the toss and batted and scored 236 with captain Kurt Edward hitting 72, Vidal Crandon 59, Kimani Melius 48 and Dexter Solomon 23. Off spinner  Alleyn Prospere was the chief wicket taker for Cental Castries with six for 74 and opening bowler Loic Prospere bagged two for 40.

Guinness Street Football Grand Caribbean Finals 2014

The Caribbean Grand final of the 2014 Guinness Street Football Challenge was a resounding success in more ways than one.  From the well-orchestrated efforts of the organising committee to the dazzling skills, thrills and frills of the eight finalists on the field of play and the pulsating performance by reggae superstar Anthony Moses Davis aka Beenie Man, which brought the curtain down on the two-day showpiece.

Hosted by 2013 champions Trinidad and Tobago (T&;T) at the Jean Pierre Complex in Port of Spain, the tournament got off to a bright start on Friday 6 June when Antigua &; Barbuda copped a 1-0 win over Group A rival St. Vincent and the Grenadines courtesy of a Corwin Mathurin fifth minute strike.  St Lucia joined the party with a late 2-1 win over Dominica in their Group B opener. Silverios Vidale’s goal in the fourth minute for St. Lucia was cancelled out by Kelshire Charles’ equaliser two minutes later. But Guthyos Vidal would snatch all three points for St Lucia when he provided the winning item a minute from time.
