The visiting Shrewsbury House School out of the United Kingdom began their cricket tour of Saint Lucia with matches at two venues yesterday.

At the Gros Islet Playing Field, John Eugene’s Academy easily defeated the English Under-13s by 77 runs.

John Eugene’s Academy totalled 160 for 4 from their allotted 25 overs. Captain Akim Auguste top-scored with an attractive 60 which contained ten fours, while Sanjay Hayle made 36, and Amari Venner contributed 26 not out.

Shrewsbury House School Team One were dismissed for a lame 83. James Chapman, their best batsman scored 19, while Ben Mangat made 16.

For the local boys, Sanjay Hayle, Ryan Goodman, Fijay Bastien and Amari Venner picked up two wickets each.

Final Scores: John Eugene’s Academy – 160 for 4 in 25 overs.

Shrewsbury House School Team One – 83 all out in 18 overs.
