On Saturday at Piaye Cafriere struggled to defeat Piaye in a low scoring encounter. Winning the toss and inviting Piaye to take first knock, Piaye was bowled out for 115 off 25 Overs. Nigel Fredrick 28 and Brad Louis 23 were the top scorers for Piaye. Bowling for Cafriere, Lucas Mitchel took 4 for 42 off 7 overs and Jim Felix 2 for 14 off 5 Overs.
In response the over confident Cafriere batting line-up panicked at 34 for 5 from some accurate Piaye bowling but a dogged innings by Kurstan Jules 54 not out; Vience Smith 20 and Jim Felix 14 rescued them and reached the target losing 7 wickets. For Piaye, Brad Louis took 4 for 40 off 6 overs and Kapil Joseph 2 for 10 off 3 overs. Cafriere won by 3 wickets.
On Sunday after a brief fight back by Drivers they were eventually lost to Mongouge by 85 runs at Piaye. Batting first Mongouge was bowled out for 218 off 35 overs. Keifer Prosper 50, Bernard Joseph 34 and Arthur Eugene 32. For Drivers veteran John Mathurin took 4 for 39 off 7 Ovvers, Merve Williams and Libby Cooper 2 wickets each.
In reply Drivers were bowled out for 133 off 20 overs; Swalan Auguste 35, José Thomas 27, Harvey Cooper 20. Bowling for Mongouge Keifer Prosper and Denver joseph each too 3 wickets.
The match between Ebony and Londonderry at La Fargue was rained off.
Meanwhile, in an effort to provide Choiseul cricketers with more playing opportunities, the Choiseul Cricket Committee will launch its 2015 Zonal Cricket Competition this coming weekend. The Zonal competition will see clubs from across the district placed in four zones from which a team will be selected to play each other. Matches in this competition will be of two-days duration in keeping with the National Division One tournament.
The four Zones will comprise:-
Zone 1. La Point, Morne Sion and Drivers
Zone 2. Mongouge, Raveneau and Dacretin
Zone 3. Cafriere, Ebony and Piaye
Zone 4 Balca, Saltibus and Londonderry.
