The Babonneau Constituency Council in collaboration with the Babonneau Youth And Sports Council,  extends congratulations to the following young men from the Babonneau community, as we salute them on their recent sporting achievements:

1. Mr. Denzel St. Marthe, for winning a bronze medal, and setting a new personal best in the Javelin Event, with a  throw of 64.38m, at the recent Carifta Games held in St. Kitts, on the Easter Weekend.

2. Mr. Ace Louis, for also winning  a bronze medal in the high jump  at that same games. He too improved on his personal best jump when he cleared a height of 2.11m.
3. Mr. Kimani Melius, for successfully captaining St. Lucia to it's second consecutive title in the 2015 Windward Islands under 15 cricket competition which ended in St. Lucia last Wednesday. He was also the leading batsman in the tournament with 233 runs. This performance earned him a spot on to the Windward Islands Youth Team for the second year running.

4. Mr. Albert Reynolds, for hurling the Javelin a distance of 72.99m at a recent competition in Martinique. This mark which is now a new national record, erased the previous record which was also held by Albert.

We would also like to recognize, congratulate and extend best wishes to  two daughters of the Babonneau soil, on their selection to the Natural Under 16 Netball Team, currently participating in the 15th Jean Pierre Under- 16 Netball Championship in St. Lucia. They are Jermiah Evariste and Bianca Alfred. Ms. Alfred was also chosen as the captain of the team. We wish them well in this ongoing tournament, and hope that they will perform outstandingly to help St. Lucia win this championship.

The people of Babonneau are extremely proud of those young people, and we extend best wishes to all of them and to the many other aspiring sports men and and women from the Babonneau Community, reminding them that they should never give up,  but rather keep aiming high for the sky is the limit.
