NYAH recorded a stunning come from behind victory over Police as action continued in the CFC SLFA Registration Tournament on Wednesday April 15th at the SAB. Police were coming off a victory in their previous game and looked on course to take maximum points when Myron Alfred scored a brace with goals in the 19th and 54th minutes. NYAH searched for an equalizer but were met with stubborn resistance from the law men.
However, in the 78th minute NYAH’s persistence paid off when Andel Christopher scored a goal to give his team a sliver of hope. Eleven minutes later the scores we levelled, courtesy of a goal by Phillip Ismael. At that point a draw would have been a fair result for the efforts of both teams but in the first minute of stoppage time Andel Christopher netted home the winner for NYAH as the shell shocked Police team were left searching for answers on how a comfortable victory was transformed into defeat.
With that win NYAH moved to joint top of the table on six points with Flow Lancers FC.
Action resumes on Saturday 18th April when Police will attempt to hand Flow Lancers FC their first defeat of the tournament. On Sunday there will be double header; the first match will feature FC Pioneers versus Sunrisers with both teams looking for their first victory. This will be followed by Valley Soccer versus NYAH. All matches take place at the SAB Playing facility.
