The SLFA and Vizions have come in for high praises over the weekend for their performance during the Launch of the SLFA Vizions Michels Electrical Super League Knockout Football Tournament.
Many patrons are still surprised by the on-time record over the weekend which saw 5 games played over a period of two days. Two matches were played and Saturday and 3 matches on Sunday, with the 3 Sunday games completed by 10:15 pm The opening match on Saturday saw Roseau Valley coming up against Dennery. By the end of the regulation 90 minutes, both teams were scoreless with Dennery seeing their chance of victory squandered by a misstep right in front of goal in the 85th Minute. Dennery would regret their mischances as Roseau would score 4 times in the penalty shoot out to secure their place in the second round defeating Dennery 4 goals to 3 on penalties.
Gros islet made light work of Desruisseaux defeating them 7 goals to nil with Troy Greenidge scoring 4 times to send Desruisseaux crashing out of the Super League on the opening day. Arainis Lorde, Elijah Louis and Nicholas Lawrence each scored 1 a piece for Gros Islet
Mabouya Valley defeated Choiseul 3 goals to 2 with Martis Joseph , Wayne Thedore and Yveslin Eugene scoring the Mabouya valley and Leontius Jospeh and Tarrie Alcee scoring for Choiseul.
It took a 67-minute goal from Yod Fevrier to supply the knockout punch to La Clery ensuring Mon Repos qualification into the second round defeating La Clery one go to nil.
Anse La Raye made light work of Laborie with Dane St. Croix , Mackean St. Croix and Georges Guillet socring for Anse La Raye to send Laborie home 3 goals to Nil
Matches continue on Tuesday from 6 pm at the Beausejour cricket grounds with Baboneau vs Soufriere and South Castries playing Canaries. on Wednesday Micoud will play Marchand and Vieux Fort North with play Central Castries.
