On Saturday 25th April 2015, the SLSKA will stage the Belt Ceremony for the 49th Grading Exercise.

The SLSKA conducted its 49th Grading Exercise on Saturday 18th at the Gros Islet Secondary School, where 26 members of the Association from three affiliate dojos:

  • Kevala Taj Dojo on Rodney Bay
  • Police Karate Academy
  • St. Joseph Convent Karate College

They all vied for higher grades in the International Karate Daigaku(College) Ranking System.

The SLSKA was again honored to host Shuseki Shihan(Master Instructor) Frank Woon A Tai – 9th Dan from the IKD’s headquarters in Toronto, Ontario, Canada who was on his annual Caribbean tour which included countries: Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad, Barbados, St. Vincent, Dominica, Antigua, Jamaica and St. Lucia.

Whiles here Shihan Woon A Tai conducted two training seminars for members of the Association. The weekend activity ended with results of the grading being announced to participants with the among the outstanding highlights being Yanil Sam of the Police Karate Academy and Krystal Ramkhelawan of the Keval Taj Dojo, passing their Shodan Grading (1st degree black belt)

The Belt Ceremony which will be held that the SLSKA’s Headquarters Dojo at Rodney Bay, will commence from 1:00 pm where participants will be issued with belts and rank certificates.
