Kassandra Pierre and the University of North Carolina Asheville Bulldogs track and field team wrapped up the 2015 season at the Big South Championships in High Point, North Carolina, over the weekend.

The senior from Saint Lucia advanced to the women’s 400m hurdles final with a run of 1:00.62, fourth in the preliminaries. That set a new school record and Saint Lucia national record for the event. ‘Kassie’ had previously set the national record at 1:01.56, almost exactly a month ago at the Georgia Tech Invitational. But she did miss out on making the qualifying mark of 59.56 for the Pan Am Games in Toronto, Canada.
