Saint Lucia's Levern Spencer competed over the weekend at the Sainsbury's Birmingham Grand Prix, an IAAF Diamond League meeting in the United Kingdom. The 30-year-old from Babonneau was part of a strong field in women's high jump.

The Polish duo of Kamila Licwinko and Justyna Kasprzycka took first and second, respectively, clearing 1.97m and 1.94m, each setting her season's best. Spencer, meanwhile, continues to punch below her weight this season. Just over two weeks shy of her 31st birthday, she needed all three tries at 1.91, and missed at 1.94, which would ghave qualified her for the Olympics.

Levern was seventh in Birmingham. She is set to represent Saint Lucia at the Pan Am Games next month.
