The group preliminary matches in the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Secondary Schools Under-15 Cricket Tournament continued on Tuesday with victories for Sir Ira Simmons over Gros Islet Secondary, Entrepot Secondary over Castries Comprehensive, Piaye Secondary over Marigot Secondary, Beanfield Comprehensive over Choiseul Secondary and Micoud Secondary over George Charles Secondary.

At the Gros Islet Playing Field in game # 1, Sir Ira Simmons, led by a blistering half century from Gabriel Biscette completed a comfortable 7 wicket victory over Gros Islet Secondary. An opening stand of 150 between Jaquan Lucien 65 and skipper Qiana Joseph 60, allowed Gros Islet Secondary to amass 196 for 4 in their allotted 25 overs. Bowling for Sir Ira Simmons, Tyrel Lawrence 2 for 23 in 5 overs and Jerous Moise 2 for 26 in 5 overs.

Chasing 197 for victory, Sir Ira Simmons raced to their target, finishing on 197 for the loss of 3 wickets in just 17.3 overs, with Gabriel Biscette making an aggressive 86 which included 9 fours and 6 sixes. Tyrel Lawrence also lent valuable support with 22.

Result: Sir Ira Simmons Winning by 7 Wickets.

In game # 2, Entrepot Secondary won over Castries Comprehensive on superior run rate as a shower brought the match to a premature end. Castries Comprehensive batting first was dismissed for 119 in 21 overs, with Placide Noellien contributing 49, Dominic Auguste 15 and Zayne Fontenelle 12. Kyle Adonis was Entrepot Secondary's most successful bowler with outstanding figures of 6 for 12 in 4 overs.

Set 120 for victory, Entrepot Secondary ended on 119 for 3 in 18 overs when rain brought an end to proceedings. The main contributors being, Kyle Adonis with 48 not out, Tyrel Chicot 29 and Olarry Alfred 16. For Castries Comprehensive, Javid Rosalie, Kisheal Jaunai and Yahn Darius took 1 wicket each.

Result: Entrepot Secondary winning by a superior run rate.

At the Piaye Playing Field in the morning match, Piaye Secondary registered a hard earned victory with just 2 balls to spare over a spirited Marigot Secondary.

Marigot Secondary batting first made 138 for 7 in their allotted 19 overs, with Brandon Modeste top scoring with 59, Chad William 29 and Jn Neil Thomas 15. Bowling for Piaye Secondary, Vijay Phillip 2 for 15 in 4 overs and Tristan Norbal 2 for 32 in 4 overs.

Set a victory target of 139, Piaye Secondary got to their target finishing on 139 for 4 in 18.4 overs, with Shelton St Rose making 29, Dwight St Catherine 26 not out, Tristan Norbal 25 not out and Nolan Flavien 14. For Marigot Secondary, Jn Neil Thomas picked up 2 for 24 in 4.4 overs.

Result: Piaye Secondary winning by 6 wickets.

In the afternoon game, Beanfield Comprehensive completed a comfortable 76 run victory over Choiseul Secondary. Beanfield Comprehensive batting first made 171 for 9 in their quota of 25 overs, with Zephaniah Edwin making 33, Tyrone Theodore 23 and 22 each to Jamal Benoit and Daniel Olani. Bowling for Choiseul Secondary, Hanif Antoine 2 for 20 in 5 overs, Jervon Stephen 2 for 25 in 5 overs and Darrel Gonzales 2 for 31 in 4 overs.

Chasing 172 for victory, Choiseul Secondary were bowled out for 95 in 16.4 overs, with Hanif Antione 28, the only batsman to offer any resistance. Bowling for Beanfield Comprehensive,  Jamielle St Paul 3 for 23 in 3 overs, Sachin Charles 2 for 8 in 1 over, Taj Roberts 2 for 12 in 3.3 overs and Zephaniah Edwin 2 for 24 in 3 overs.

Result: Beanfield Comprehensive winning by 76 runs.

In the sole match played at the Dennery Playing Field, Micoud Secondary registered an easy 7 wicket victory over George Charles Secondary. George Charles Secondary batting first was dismissed for 56 in 18.1 overs. Doing the damage for Micoud Secondary were, Ashani Velinor with 5 for 35 in 5 overs and Molice Lubrin 4 for 21 in 5 overs.

In reply, Micoud Secondary raced to victory in the 8th over, finishing on 57 for 3 in 7.2 overs, with Molice Lubrin finishing on 27 not out and Garvin Serieux 17. For George Charles Secondary Daniel Alphonse took 2 for 21 in 3 overs.

Result: Micoud Secondary winning by 7 wickets.
