A century for West Indies Under - 16 batsman Kimani Melius, fresh from touring the UK, propels Rising Stars to an easy 8 wicket victory over a Soufriere Representative Under 17 team on Friday, September 4 at the Monchy Playing Field.
The Soufriere lads batting first, was dismissed for 203 in 26.5 overs (35), with Xystus Emmanuel top scoring with 51 and Dillon Monrose not out. For Rising Stars, captain Rahym Joseph bagged 4 wickets and 2 each went to Lee Solomon, Garvin Serieux and Rumario Simmons.
In reply, Rising Stars led by yet another destructive inning from Kimani Melius (142 not out), finished on 206 for 2 in just 17 overs. Melius' delightful inning comprised of 10 fours and 12 sixes. Earlier in the chase Stavone Gabriel was dismissed for 17 and Garvin Serieux for 1. Rumario Simmons was the other not out batsman on 15.
