Nearly 40 athletes took part in the Saint Lucia Athletics Association's Cross Country Championships on Sunday at Pigeon Point.

Road Busters, as expected, dominated the men's and junior men's divisions,

  • In the men's 8,000-metre run, Jason Sayers won from a field of six athletes in 26:17.54 - he was followed across the finish line by Road Busters teammates, Michael Biscette in 26:24.79 and Anthony Neptune in 29:55.01.
  • In the 6,000-metre run for junior boys, it was another Road Busters sweep, with Mitch Alexander taking first in 20:31.69 in a tight victory over Torrie Richilieu in 20:35.22 - Sheldon Descartes was a fairly distant third in 21:39.90
  • Kamillah Monroque was victorious in the 4,000-run for women, the young Rockets athlete clocking 18:11.88 to lead 17 competitors, including teammate Thomyka Valcent in 18:24.19 and Chantal Glasgow of Road Busters in 19:26.50
