Another round of matches were completed on Tuesday in the United Insurance Under 19 School Cricket Tournament with victories for Ciceron Secondary over Corinth Secondary, for Castries Comprehensive over Entrepot Secondary and for Piaye Secondary over Soufriere Comprehensive.
At the Monchy Playing field Ciceron Secondary spurred on by a 5 wicket haul from Simeon Dalakan registered a comfortable 8 wicket victory over Corinth Secondary. Corinth Secondary batting first were under mined by some very aggressive seam bowling from Ciceron Secondary only managed 124 all out in 25.4 overs with Winsley Samson 12 the only batsman to reach double figures. Simeon Dalakan led the bowling attack for Ciceron bagging 5 for 10 in 5 overs and was supported by Veron Preville who took 2 for 19 in 5 overs, Daniel Jn Baptiste 2 for 38 in 7 overs and Collinus Calender 1 for 22 in 5 overs.
In response Ciceron Secondary easily got to their target reaching 125 for 2 in 26.5 overs with Veron Preville 40 not out and Collinus Calender 37 not out. Kimron Charles was the only wicket taker for Corinth Secondary taking 2 for 39 in 7 overs.
At the Gros Islet Playing Field it was Castries Comprehensive defeating Entrepot by 105 runs. CCSS batting first made a respectful 260 all out in 44 overs with half centuries coming from Nick Elibox 55, Kimani Herrel 54 and Adile Barlow 53. Bowling for Entrepot Secondary, Tyrel Chico 3 for 39 in 9 overs, Micheal Eugene 3 for 36 in 9 overs and Glen Goolaman 2 for 2 for 36 in 9 overs.
In response Entrepot Secondary never really challenged the target and were eventually bowled out for 155 in 31 overs with Kirby Alfred making 41, Glen Goolaman 21 and Quain Duplasis 15. Kimani Herrel following his half century was CCSS most successful bowler taking 4 for 38 in 6 overs and was supported by Kyle Constantine 2 for 36 in 5 overs.
At the Piaye Playing Field it was Piaye Secondary recording a tense 11 run victory over Soufriere Comprehensive. Piaye Secondary taking first knock were dismissed for 129 in 36 overs with Shervin George top scoring with 63. Daniel Emmanuel was Soufriere Comprehensive's best bowler bagging 4 for 5 in 4 overs.
Set a victory target of 130, Soufriere Comprehensive tried valiantly but fell short by just 12 runs reaching 118 in 27 overs with Lee Vaughn Modeste top scoring with 34. Doing the damage for Piaye Secondary was Shervin George completing a fine all round performance taking 4 for 25 in 9 overs.
The tournament continues on Wednesday with Gros Islet Secondary coming up against George Charles Secondary at the Gros Islet Playing Field.
