The WICB/SLNCA Grassroots Cricket Program recommences this Saturday in 7 Communities. The programme is targeted at boys and girls from ages 11 to 17 with little or no experience in cricket.
The majority of participants in the programme are from the community and not part of existing cricket clubs. The program is under the supervision of SLNCA Coaches in the following communities:
Gros Islet, Central Castries, South Castries, Anse La Raye, Dennery, Mon Repos and Vieux Fort North. The program will be run every Saturday morning from 9 to 12 noon.
The majority of players representing the victorious National Under 15 and Under 19 Cricket teams have been part of the enrollment in the Grassroots program in their community.
A squad of 20 Under 19 female cricketers have been selected to undergo training for the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board under 19 Invitational Women Cricket Tournament from July 9 - 14, 2014.
Training commences today at the MPP and will continue twice weekly. St Lucia placed joint second last year.

Northern Zone v Southern Zone - Gros Islet
