The leading wicket taker in the 2014 first class competition, Kenroy Peters is one of two players from the Windward Islands called up in a squad of 20 players to prepare for the upcoming West Indies versus New Zealand Test series. The other is ace spinner Shane Shillingford.
All rounder Dwayne Bravo is one of five T&T players, alongside newly-elected West Indies captain Denesh Ramdin, Dwayne's half-brother Darren, fast bowler Shannon Gabriel and mystery spinner Sunil Narine.
The leading run scorer in the prelminary stages of the recently concluded Regional 4 Day tournament, Jamaican Shacaya Thomas of Comibined Campuses and Colleges, has been omitted.
Four Jamaicans have been included, however, in the persons of Jermaine Blackwood, former West Indies captain Chris Gayle, recalled fast bowler Jerome Taylor and Marlon Samuels.
The squad is dominated by players from Barbados, the contingent comprising Kraigg Brathwaite, Kirk Edwards, Ashley Nurse, Jason Holder, Shane Dowrich, Sulieman Benn and Kemar Roach.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Keiran Powell are the only players from Guyana and the Leewards respectively.
The squad of 20 was chosen by the regional selection panel headed by Guyanese Clyde Butts and will move to Barbados on June 1 for a camp, then on to Jamaica for the opening match against the Kiwis.
