A contingent of Three Boxers and two officials are scheduled to leave here on Friday afternoon to take part in a boxing card to be held in Guyana on Saturday evening.

The boxers making the trip to Guyana are 75 kg Middleweight Arthur Langelier,69 kg welterweight Ron Bastien and 75kg middleweight  female boxer Melanda ST.Claire who will be making her competitive debut in the ring.

The boxers will be accompanied to Guyana by Coach Conrad Fredericks and Second Vice President and PRO of the ST.Lucia Boxing Association Brian Mc Donald as team Manager.

The event in Guyana Saturday evening is called the “Nuff  Cuff injection Boxing Competition and will be held at the Buxton Community Centre.

Langelier is expected to come up against Denis Thomas who narrowly edged him out when the two last met in Guyana at the Four nation Goodwill Tournament in February while Bastien may face Eon Bantcroft or Ron Smith who both  defeated him controversially at the Four nation Goodwill Tournament in February.

St Claire will have a tough debut in the ring as she faces the experienced Theresa London whose mother Pamela London was a Guyana and World Heavyweight Boxing title holder.

The Boxers from ST.Lucia and Guyana are using these fights as preparation for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Scotland in July/August and the CAC Boxing qualifiers to be held in Bogota Columbia in August.
