Central Castries beat Gros-Islet by seven wickets as the National Cricket Association's Division one cricket competition continued at the weekend.

Playing at home Gros-islet won the toss and batted and scored 236 with captain Kurt Edward hitting 72, Vidal Crandon 59, Kimani Melius 48 and Dexter Solomon 23. Off spinner  Alleyn Prospere was the chief wicket taker for Cental Castries with six for 74 and opening bowler Loic Prospere bagged two for 40.

In reply, Central Castries picked up a slim five run lead scoring 241.  Gaspard Prospere smashed 96 and Keddy Lesporis 60.  Stephen Naitram chipped in with 34 and Jamaal James 20. Milan David picked up three wickets for 36 runs, Simeon Gerson, three for 73 and Johnnel Eugene two for 42.

Batting a second time, Gros-islet were restricted to 156 all out with Kurt Edward again topscoring with 61. Dane Edward and  Shane Alfred 26 each and Johnnel Eugene 14 were the other main scorers. Marlon O'Brian took his tally of wickets after two matches to 15, bagging five for 32 and Dillon John three for 23.

Set 152 for victory Central Castries achieved their target at 153 for three with Stephen Naitram continuing his good form stroking  51, Gaspard Prospere hit a robust 36 while Keddy Lesporis was 23 not out. Johnnel Eugene picked up two for 41 and the under-15 national player Simeon Gerson got the other to take his tally to 15 wickets in two matches.
