Team Eagles defeats Team Jaguars 4 games to 1. Experienced Teddy Matthews from Jaguars outplayed Clement Charles of Eagles 3 sets to 1 in the opening match. Chris Wells of Eagles quickly equalized the series when he defeated Tristan Matthews in straight sets. The doubles event saw Wells and Charles winning in straight sets against Teddy and Tristan. Chris Wells then won a tightly contested match against Teddy Matthews 3 games to 1. Clement Charles of Eagles then put the icing on the cake when he defeated Tristan in straight sets to give Eagles a 4 games to 1 victory.
The second match was between team Carbons and last years’ league champions Challengers. Omarie Ferdinand of Carbons won the opening match when he defeated Sunil Chitole from team Challengers 3 games to 1. All out attacking Adrian Albert from Challengers ran through the defensive Vandyke Jude of Carbons in straight sets 3 games to 0. Jude and Ferdinand won the doubles in straight sets over Albert and Chitole. The match of the night was next between Adrian Albert and Omarie Ferdinand. Omarie with his powerful attacking strokes ran away with the first game. Albert responded well with solid blocks and quick backhand and forehand topspins to win the next two games. Omarie then countered with good tactics and great placement to win the next game. The final set was keenly contested as both players kept the pressure on each other. Omarie powerful attacking shots however proved to be an asset as Albert missed some crucial blocks close to the end of the game which resulted in Omarie winning 3 games to 2. Vandyke then defeated Sunil 3 games to 2 to give his team a 4 games to 1 win.
