Qualifying rounds of the 21st annual St Lucia Squash Open finished on Tuesday and the main draw commenced Wednesday with a draw of 16 players included the top four seeds of the tournament Colin Ramasra of Trinidad, Jules Snagg and Kevin Hannaway of St Vincent and charlie Sonson of St Lucia.  At the end of Wednesday night the eight players that continued through to the quarter finals were:

  • Jules Snagg of St Vincent who defeated Stephen Lamazzi of Canada in three straight games 11/1  11/3  11/5.  In the first game snagg served straight through to 10 before dropping a point
  • Kevin Hannaway of St Vincent defeated Eshwan Adams also of St Vincent 11/1 11/1  11/3.  Adams had a total of six opportunities to serve throughout the match
  • Charlie Sonson of St Lucia won as Karl Nassief of Dominica forfeited his match as he had to leave St Lucia Thursday
  • Colin Ramasra of Trinidad defeated Carlos Segovia of St Lucia in three straight games
The tournament made possible in part  by Silver sponsors Coco Resorts, the Bank of St Lucia and the Blu Hotel continues Friday evening with the semi final matches in the main draw as well as semi final matches for 5th and 7th place.  There will also be several other matches played in the plate and consolation draws.  Matches commence at 5.30 pm and the semi final between charlie sonson and Jules snagg is at 6.30 pm while the other semi final match between Colin Ramasra and Kevin Hannaway takes place at 6.30 pm

There is no cover charge and everyone is invited to come out and see some great squash at the St Lucia yacht club from 5.30 pm
