The beginning of the 2013/2014 academic school year also marks the start of the School Sports Calendar.
The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Human Resource Development and Labour have finalised the sporting agenda for the year through a series of working group sessions which sought to design programmes to build and strengthen sports in the school system.
To this end, the Ministries will convene this academic year’s first meeting of all Secondary School Physical Education Teachers along with Chairpersons of the various Primary School Districts’ Sports Committees on Friday, 13th September, 2013 at the Beausejour Cricket Grounds, Players’ Pavilion from 9:00a.m.
On the agenda for Friday’s meeting will be discussions regarding the School Sports Programme, Schools’ Coaching Programme, presentations by various sporting associations as well as Saint Lucia’s hosting of upcoming regional and international sporting events.
The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports is excited about the programmes for the school year as it seeks to develop world class athletes who at all times seek to pursue excellence as they represent their schools and Saint Lucia at all upcoming events.
